My name is Trista & my partner Alex and I run a luxury nationwide wedding planning service called Behind The Scenes Event Management (BTS). Thanks to WAGS Redefined, we’re here to help you get around the stresses of all that comes with marrying an athlete. We have been planning weddings for over five years, and during that time, we have planned countless weddings for professional athletes and their fiancees. Our job is to keep our brides stress free as they prepare for the best day of their lives.
Here are the four questions we think all WAGS should ask when looking to hire a wedding planner:
1. How do you protect the privacy of high profile weddings?
Alex and I pride ourselves on protecting our bride and groom’s privacy, especially as it relates to fame and fortune. Each couple is different when it comes to privacy, so determining where the couple ranks their privacy is something we establish from the outset. With social media being as relevant as it is, it is our job to make sure all bases are covered and all vendors understand their boundaries when it comes to posting photos and information about the bride and groom’s big day.
To protect the couple’s privacy, we make certain we are very hands on in every aspect of vendor communication and contracts. Staying on top of the details from the very beginning give all our couples piece of mind knowing their best interest is always our first priority.
2. How will they ensure vendors won’t overcharge you?
Pricing is important to us--no matter the occupation. Just because your man plays a professional sport, doesn’t mean he should have to spend any more money than a 9-5 business guy would. We’ve heard of some unfortunate circumstances where vendors will google your man in order to see how much money he makes to determine pricing. To be clear, this isn’t always the case, but we are here to protect our couples from those types of situations. We ensure all vendors charge fair prices and aren’t inflating just because your man has a blue checkmark on IG.

4. How would they prepare for your big day as a whole?
Of course, the actual wedding day is the most important, but there are so many more details to consider when it comes to guests. It is always important for us to make sure that not only the Bride and Groom are comfortable, but guests as well.
There are several key factors for us to figure out so that the guests’ experience is completely fulfilled. This starts with transportation and hotel accommodations and trickles all the way down to favors and amenities. In addition, we even find it important to know what they will eat on their way back to the airport. After all, if it is important to you, it is important to us.
