Featured WAGS: Behind the Brand with GetBodiedbyJ

Atlanta, Ga. - Wife. Mother. Fitpreneur. All nouns to describe J (better known as GetBodiedbyJ), a woman originally from New Mexico, who has built a healthy lifestyle brand attracting hundreds of thousands of followers and fans from all over the world. I sat down with J in the first ever "WAGS Chat" to discover more about the beauty behind the successful brand.

WAGS Chat is meant to feel like a casual conversation between girlfriends.

Disclaimer: As the mother of a newborn son, there were several interruptions during our interview and you may even notice me looking down (to check on my son who was breastfeeding). All the moms feel me. So check out the casual conversation between two mompreneurs where we touch on the fun ("Stilettos or Sneakers?", "Grocery store-must haves", "her love story") to the deeper ("how do you define success?", "what are you most proud of in your career?", domestic violence) and so much more. I appreciate J for being so real and transparent.

"Us as wives only show but so much. For the ones that do [have something going for themselves], I feel like we need a voice and need to be recognized."

J, who built her fitness and lifestyle brand from the ground up, recognized her interests early on.

"I could tell at a young age that I had a passion for fitness but of course I never thought this is where I'd be."

She is undoubtedly committed to her craft, managing five social media accounts herself, of which the numbers range from 100,000 to 556,000 followers. Her passion for fitness shines through and allows her to connect with her audience in a way that many other fitness professionals are unable to.

And her number one advice for people looking to get in better shape?

"Eating clean and working out is a lifestyle," says J. "I feel like women and men...have to make a mental decision to do this for them." She explains that it's about feeling good and then looking good, not the other way around.

So what about her love story? J is a newlywed, recently married to NFL player Crezdon Butler, who worked his way into this beauty's heart with lots of laughs and humility.

"I've always been attracted to laid back guys. All that flashy stuff, I just feel like it's too loud," said J. "I thought I was never gonna get married because I had been hurt so much. He had to literally work his way over that wall."

With the struggle of finding love behind her and a prospering business in her current reality, J is tackling multiple future projects including a book. As she speaks, I can't help but notice the confidence and conviction; she is unapologetically herself for one main reason.

"I love me so I really don't care what people think of me and how they portray me because at the end of the day, they're not the ones who are going to judge me. The man above is going to be the one to judge what I've done."

I can certainly appreciate a woman of faith and a woman who gives back to her community. Join GetBodiedbyJ in supporting Breast Cancer Awareness initiatives by attending her fun-filled class this Saturday at Lenox Park beginning at 8:45 a.m.

"I hug every individual person that comes to my class....Even though they already know who I am, I'm introducing myself."
